The Purpose of our Sunday Gathering

We meet together each Sunday for the purpose of worshipping Jesus Christ our Savior, growing in our understanding of His Word, for prayer, and the fellowship with the Church.

Hebrews 10:24-25
"And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see teh Day drawing near."

What to wear

Come as you are! Our congregation dresses in everything from jeans and t-shirts to dresses and suits. What matters most to us is that you come ready to worship Jesus through His Word, prayer, and fellowship.

Children

We are thankful to have children join their family during the worship service. We have listening guides and pencil pouches to help them learn and worship alongside their parents. After the offering the pastor will dismiss any children ages 5 and younger, if the parent would prefer. They will enjoy a Bible lesson with a trained leader.

Worship Service

Our worship service follows an intentional and meaningful order. We begin with prayer to prepare our hearts and focus our attention on God. We then sing songs that celebrate the goodness and faithfullness of our God. The Deacons will receive an offering as we worship through giving. After children five and younger are dismissed, the pastor will lead us through expositional preaching, teaching God's Word verse by verse. Through this faithful study, we seek to learn what God wants to reveal about Himself through Scripture. Following the sermon, the pastor will lead us in a prayer of reflection, challenging us to examine our hearts in light of God's Word. We close with a song of worship and a benediction.

Baptist Distinctives

Kennebec Baptist Church holds to the Baptist Faith and Message (2000). We believe that Salvation is by Grace alone, through Faith alone, in Christ alone, according to the Scriptures alone, for the Glory of God alone.
We hold to believers baptism by full immersion and partaking in the Lord's supper as commanded by Jesus. As the Church of Christ we participate in the Lord's supper every fifth Sunday. As a visitor, we encourage you to decline the elements of the Lord's supper until you are a baptized believer. If you are a believer, you are welcome to participate and we would love to discuss how you can become a member of Kennebec.
